My clinical work is in intensive care and anaesthesia. My research centres on coagulation and transfusion management — how we measure haemostasis at the bedside, and how those measurements should change what we actually give patients.
Most of it draws on large clinical datasets: outcomes after extracorporeal life support, the effect of direct oral anticoagulants on viscoelastic testing, factor-based coagulation management, and perioperative risk. Before returning to Zurich I spent 2025–26 as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Anesthesia Research Excellence, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.
